February 5 (6:30 pm) The Capicu Poetry Open Mic w/ Hebrew Mamita & La Barbilona at Notice Lounge. Williamsburg's grassroots house of poetry and performing arts, Capicu Poetry, will host the first 2010 installment of its popular Open Mic session, feauturing the music of DJ Sambarella and dynamic talent of poets Hebrew Mamita and Anna Marie "La Barbilona" Martell. February 7 (12 pm) La Semilla at Lincoln Triangle Barnes and Noble. La Semilla, The Seed, a brand new Spanish workshop taught specifically for children ages 12 and under, joins us to host a free sample class which will incorporate storytelling to teach kids Spanish in a fun and engaging way. February 7 (12 - 2 pm) Jive Poetic Workshop at Acentos Writers Workshop. The Acentos Writers Workshop was established with the purpose of nurturing the newer voices in the poetry community. The Jive Poetic workshop accepts writers of all backgrounds and skill levels to foster growth and maximize their full potential as writers. The workshops are free, but RSVP is required.
